The Nursery's Latest Newsletter - January 2010
8th January 2010
Dear Parents/Carers,
A Happy New Year to you all from everyone in the nursery. We hope that you all had an
enjoyable Christmas holiday and are looking forward to a busy and exciting term ahead.
A very warm welcome to the new children and their families who have joined us in our nursery.
HEALTH
Please can I remind you to phone or email the Nursery if your child is ill and unable to attend the session.
Please remember that if your child has sickness or diarrhoea you should keep them at home for 48 hours.
Unfortunately, there has been an outbreak of head lice. Please read the attached advice sheet and help us have a 'nit free' Nursery.
WEATHER
During Severe Weather please listen to the morning bulletins on BBC Radio Kent, KMFM or Heart for possible Nursery closure. If the Primary School is closed then the Nursery will also be closed.
SPARE CLOTHING
Could you please ensure that you send your child to nursery with a spare set of clothes for every session. These should be in a bag clearly labelled with your child's name. These can be left at nursery if you wish. Could you also make sure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing as the children are encouraged to play outside even when it is cold. We are very short of spare clothing especially pants, socks and tights. We would appreciate any donations of any items to replenish our stock. If your child does come home in spare clothing provided by the nursery please can you wash and return them at your child's next session.
PLANNING
Thank you to all those families who took the time to complete the Unique Story forms which were sent home at the end of last term. Sharing information like this is essential in ensuring the best possible care for yor children so we really do appreciate the support. Your child's key person will now use this information to inform your child's planning this term, but please keep giving us your ideas from home, we will endeavour to help with anything we can.
JOURNALS
Please do not forget that your child's Learning Journal can go home at any time as long as you inform your Key Person. Please add anything you like, they are a reflection of your child's progress so their home life really is important too!!
