School Council

Greatstone School Council was set up to allow the children of the school to voice their opinions about issues that affect them, or that they think will make the school a better place for them as they go about their day. Consequently, quite a few projects have been given the go ahead as a result of the regular council meetings.
The council is made up from a small cross-section of the school's pupils and a few members of staff. Once a month the members meet up to discuss matters around the school in order to resolve them positively. It has been a very successful body in that it that has achieved all the goals it has set out to do.
Below are pictures of this year's council members and information about some of the projects the School Council has been repsonsible for.

The Poly Tunnel

This construction helps children understand certain aspects of the curriculum with a more tactile approach. Whether it is to do with living and growing in Science or healthy eating in P.S.H.E. this wonderful addition to our school aids pupil development no end.

The Infant Playground

The front playground has been resurfaced with Tarmac and painted with educational games to stimulate the children during playtimes, and lessons. In addition to all of this the school council also arranged for the bike racks and bins to be renewed.
