Travelling Back to Tudor Times

Special Events

On Monday 14th March Class 7 visited Kent Life in Maidstone and spent the day experiencing life as a Tudor.
During the day the children took part in workshops to learn what life was really like in Tudor times. In the music and manners workshop children danced Tudor dances and found out that people in those days were very clean. The militia workshop gave children the opportunity to hold some real Tudor weapons and during the barber surgeon workshop, children were cured of common ailments in some very gruesome ways! The clothing workshop showed children some beautiful Tudor costumes and revealed what the ladies used in order to keep themselves looking young. During the crime and punishment workshop only one child was put in the stocks and another narrowly escaped being beheaded by being pardoned at the last minute! Food and drink finished off the day, with many children wanting to try blue carrots!
An enjoyable time was had by all...
