In KS1 we use the Essential Letters and Sounds (ELS) phonics scheme. It is designed to help children learn to read quickly and confidently with daily lessons and tasks that provide a fast-paced and consistent approach to learning sounds.

In KS1 we use the Oxford Reading Tree reading scheme. It is based on character driven stories that are designed to encourage children to read for pleasure whilst providing clear and consistent progression for both fluency and comprehension.
